Welcome to the Hurley Reformed Church's web page. We invite you to come and join us in worship and fellowship in Christ's name. Our mission is to serve Christ by serving our community and the world, inviting all people to share God's love. Through our worship, education, fellowship and service we are to nurture God's people in their faith, develop their gifts of the Spirit and equip them to go forth and share the gospel of God's love in Christ Jesus. To assure that this fellowship remains a vital force in our daily lives and in our community we faithfully commit the time, talent and treasures that God has entrusted to us. |
September 13, 2009 – A celebration of homecoming and remembrance
September 13th marked a day of celebration as we welcomed all of our church families home from their summer destinations and kicked off a new year of Sunday school classes. A photo montage prepared by Jon McGrew gave us a glimpse into some of the lighter moments of the past few weeks as shared images of our church friends and families, the places they visited and the good times spent at home were enjoyed by all present.
It was a day of remembrance as well as we reflected on the events of September 11th, 2001 and heard the moving testimony of survivor Brian
For those that would like to know more about Brian’s story, the following link to NOVA’s “Building on Ground Zero” web site is provided. You can also hear his account by clicking on Audio Sermons and September 13.
Our third Annual Golf Tournament is history and with 39 golfers, 55 for a buffet and prizes at the Hurley Mountain Inn, and a beautiful sunny day, we all had a great time.
